This Privacy Policy applies to personal information handled by JYL Construction through this website, telephone calls, email, enquiry forms and other direct interactions with our team.
We aim to manage personal information openly and responsibly. Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to us, we will handle personal information in accordance with those requirements.
2. Information we may collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- your name, telephone number, email address and preferred contact method;
- your suburb, property address and information about the property;
- details about a proposed renovation, extension, granny flat, new build or home modification;
- project preferences, indicative timing, likely budget range and documents or images you choose to provide;
- records of correspondence and enquiries; and
- technical information about website use, such as device, browser and general usage data, where collected through website analytics or essential cookies.
Please do not provide sensitive personal information unless it is reasonably necessary for your enquiry. If accessibility or home-modification needs are relevant, share only the information needed for us to understand the proposed work.
3. How we collect information
We generally collect information directly from you when you submit a form, call, email, request a quotation, arrange a consultation or otherwise communicate with us. We may also receive information from an authorised representative, designer, consultant, supplier or other project participant where appropriate.
4. Why we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and confirm service availability;
- understand the property, proposed scope and likely next steps;
- arrange consultations, site visits, design coordination, quotations and project communications;
- manage business records, quality, safety and legal obligations;
- improve our website, services and customer experience; and
- send relevant updates where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law.
You may opt out of non-essential marketing communications at any time by contacting us.
5. Disclosure
We may disclose personal information where reasonably required to provide our services, including to professional advisers, designers, engineers, certifiers, trades, suppliers, technology providers and other project participants. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.
We do not sell personal information. If a service provider processes information outside Australia, we will take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances before using that provider. Contact us if you would like more information about any overseas processing relevant to your information.
6. Storage, security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably required for the purposes described in this policy, our business records and applicable legal obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified where practicable.
7. Website analytics, cookies and third-party links
We load optional Google Analytics only after you choose to allow analytics. It measures page visits, approved campaign labels, contact-button clicks, form starts and submissions accepted by our email service. A contact click is not proof of an enquiry or a sale, and email-service acceptance is not proof of inbox delivery.
We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses, form answers or submission identifiers to Google Analytics. Page addresses exclude query strings and fragments. Google processes technical information needed for analytics, including browser, device and network information, and may process data outside Australia. We do not enable advertising personalisation or Google signals in this integration. See how Google uses information from sites using its services.
Your analytics choice is stored for up to six months. You can change it using Analytics preferences at the bottom of the page. Declining or withdrawing stops optional analytics; it does not prevent browsing or sending an enquiry. Previously collected data is not automatically erased when you withdraw. Browsers, blockers and consent choices can cause reports to undercount actual enquiries.
During a browser-tab session, we retain the first page path and up to four campaign labels from a shared link (source, medium, campaign and content). If you submit an enquiry, these details accompany it to help us understand which introductions lead to enquiries. This record does not contain your form answers or the full referring URL, and we do not use it for cross-device advertising tracking. If session storage is unavailable, the form still works but may only include the current page's source information.
Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
8. Access and correction
You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or request a correction if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse access where permitted by law, in which case we will explain the reason where required.
